Here's the deal:

I'm down range right now duckin and dodgin' bad guys, but in between time, I'd like to play my 360. However, I only have my VGA cable from the Xbox, and my TV (Samsung LN32A450) won't display anything except "Mode not supported".

The last time I had my Xbox connected was to my projector and apparently it was at a resolution that my tv can't display. Anyone have time to walk me through the steps to change it? I know this is an oddball question, but since the shops here don't sell any Xbox 360 component cables, I really don't have many options. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, follow these steps:

Remove any discs from the disc tray.
Turn off the console.
Turn on the console.
Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller. Wait for the guide light to indicate that the controller has linked to the console.

Note Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller is indicated by the upper-left quadrant light on the console.

As the console starts, press and hold the Y button as you pull the right trigger.

Note This action causes the Xbox Dashboard to reset the display settings to the default settings. The console then automatically restarts.

I had a similar problem lately, but in reverse. I had to hook my xbox back up to something that supported the res the xbox was stuck on and then set it something my projector would accept
