My system has never freezed up until the latest update. This is a falcon unit made on 1-08 and bought on 4-08. Any ways. Shortly after the update. It has frozen on me twice. Now last night playing gears of war 2 online. I will be running or shooting and it literally freezes for about a second. And then is fine again. It will do this once or twice during a match. I even cleared the cache. Any ideas? Never seen some thing like that before.....

Any problems with funny lines or colors on the screen? If so then E-74 is coming soon to a TV near you. If not then it could be a myriad of things. My advice is just keep playing and if it gets worse then call up MS cust. service.

Most likely E74 is on the way. No worries though. When it breaks MS will replace it with the new hybrid boards that are actually better than the standard Falcon. (although not as good as Jasper)

No weird lines or colors. Damn I hope E74 is not coming to haunt me. Oh well. I will keep playing and see what happens. It is still under warranty so no biggie. A hybrid board? Are you being sarcastic or is that really a new board out that is replacing the falcon board for repairs? I know the new ones come with the jasper boards.....

I'm not sure what they mean by hybrid board, but there is a version of the original (zenon?) 360 without HDMI that uses the same 65nm CPU and 80nm GPU as the Falcon.

Original: 90nm CPU, 90nm GPU
Falcon: 65nm CPU, 80nm GPU (yes, eighty, it is a half-node shrink as the GPU is smaller than the original)
Jasper:65nm CPU, 65nm GPU

From what I understand, a refurb Falcon gets a slight Xclamp and heatsink tweak and all come back with BENQ DVD drives.(Best dvd drive in the 360) Hybrid was the wrong word. We'll say a "tweaked" board.

Or the freezing could be from an HDD starting to corrupt.

opus i believe? but i'm pretty sure those go into all the non-hdmi repaired boxes.
