I'm so stoked I couldn't resist posting! I literally just stole my rack off of fleaBay just now. It's a MiddleAtlantic ERK 2725 w/front and rear doors. I got it for $34 and it just 15 miles or so away, free pickup baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now if I could just afford the shelves and custom faceplates.........:(

Dude, you so did steal that! With all the savings the shelves and faceplates should equal the total for the rack MSRP!

Shelves are always available on ebay...That's exactly what my plans are. I think his faceplates are incredible! What I'm trying to figure out is how I can get that brushed aluminum satin black look on the faceplates. I have some ideas I want to try.

No clue how to get that brushed satin look. I expect that is expensive. I'd simply go with a hammered paint, or a simple gloss black with multiple wet sandings.

It said not to use a steel brush because the little pieces that got knocked off of it would rust. I'll try it on a scrap piece and see how it turns out.
