Hey folks,
I've wanted to do a home theater build for many years and I finally have the opportunity to do one now with a recent home purchase. I am looking for any recommendations of architects / designers in the Seattle area that I could work with on this project.
A couple of the specific things I'm really interested in:
This is currently an unfinished basement space (rocks and dirt on the floor, etc). It's about 23' x 24' with a few nooks. I want this to be a dedicated theater with a small kitchen / bar area if possible and a bathroom.
I would like this space to be able to be used as a rental suite in the future (when trying to sell this place I understand that not everyone in the world would want a theater). It will have a walk out since the house is built on a hill.
I would like someone that has experience in home theater design as well as other aspects of home design since I don't have either.
If anyone on these boards has used anyone remotely matching this description I would greatly appreciate any contact information. If it's not appropriate to post up in this thread please PM it to me or something like that. I still have yet to decide how much, if any, of this build I would like to DIY and how much I'd just get professionally done.
Also, if anyone has general recommendations on how to even start this project I'd love to hear it. Right now it's pretty overwhelming having a giant empty slate and not knowing where to go with it. I almost feel like it'd be easier if I had an already finished room to modify like many of the builds here.
