I have a Soyo MT-SYTPT4218AB TV. It has 1 HDMI port, and I ran an HDMI cord that was connected to my Xbox360 (For sure works) and I switched it to the Sony HT-CT100.
When I switched the HMDI cables and put it into the Sony HT-CT100, my tv doesn't pick up anything. I imagine this is because I don't have a cable box and the HT-CT100 doesn't have a direct cable from the wall plug.
So I decided to test my Xbox 360 because it is plugged through HDMI to my subwoofer and the subwoofer is connected to the TV with HDMI. My TV keeps saying theres "No Signal".
Am I doing something wrong? My TV hasn't picked up a signal when connected to the subwoofer, but if its connected to my Playstation 3 or 360 with the same HDMI cable, it picks it up.
hey man, i'm no expert but i'll try to help. first i have to ask, do you have a CT100 or CT500? Your title says ct500 but you mention ct100 twice in your description of the problem. i have the 500 so i'm gonna try helping with that. i have the cable from my ps3 in the BD hdmi on the back of the sub. I have another HDMI cable going out from the sub to my tv. thats it. just make sure you choose the proper input on your sub and you should get a picture.

I have the same problem with my Vizio VX37L. This Amazon reviewer has the same problem as well. Don't know who is to blame, but some HDTVs seem be just plain incompatible. I want to upgrade from 720p to 1080p anyway and hopefully fix an overscan problem I get from my ASRock ION 330. This was just one more reason for me to upgrade...
PS - Sorry, can't post link to the amazon review because I don't have a least 3 AVS forum posts. Lame.

Just noticed there is actually a follow-up comment that explains the problem (http://www.amazon.com/review/RKHJ50JAXDBUK/ref=cm_cr_rev_detmd_pl?ie=UTF8&cdMsgNo=2&cdPage=1&cdSort=oldest&cdMsgID=Mx1FRNKJBDFC5FT#Mx1FRNKJBDFC5FT):
***WARNING*** I received my HT CT500 today, and rushed to hook it up to my Mitsu WD 57734... it worked; for about 15 minutes before I experienced the dreaded green light of death. Bottom line up front, if you read the xx734 manual carefully, you cannot hook up "master" devices to this TV; i believe the failure and all similar is experienced due to the fact that the mitsu wants to be the master over the HDMI connection; when you hook it into a receiver that supports HDMI and attempts to take control over the HDMI functionality problems are experienced.... This is crappily / vaguely alluded to in the mitsu manual on pp.23; but how can they possibly expect any HT enthusiast to NOT use HDMI; especially when interfacing with an AV receiver... 5 stars for this product; 1 star for ANY Mitsubishi WD-xx734 (or similar) product!!!!
Seems that our TVs are to blame.
I also have a Sony HT-CT500 soundbar system question...How do you get Stereo (2-channel) playback instead of Surround Sound? I was directed by Sony Support to use the Dual Mono option but that is not the same (no left/right channels). Sorry I posted this in this forum instead of Soundbars..Thanks and happy 4th of July.
