Way too deep into repairing my CX995V... First the disk wouldn't spin, then I found that the main board on the DVP player has fried. It's the component on the DVD player that passes the voltage onto the spindle - to spin the CD / DVD, and while it could spin the CD - it wouldn't even try to spin a DVD. Now, however, I find that the motor (spindle) is bad enough to cause the chip on the main board to release it's magic black smoke that makes things work...

Anyone know where to source the FAN8035L chip on the main board? It should be pretty common to many DVD players, but I can't find a supply for them.

Just buy a new one-they aren't that expensive.
