Is there a narrow LED rope light for the front of the stage available which can be dimmed? I am a bit concerned that people may not see the curve stage front and trip on it in the dark.
BTW - I also saw some discussions in past threads, but nothing recent.

I have had no luck with LED rope light that is dimmable. I think you would have better luck with incandescent rope light for dimming. (cheaper too)

The problem with LED rope light is that most dimmers (ie: graphic eye, etc.) need a load of at least 25 watts to function properly. Unless it is a very very long run (25 - 30 feet?), it won't meet the 25 watt minimum. LEDs ropes also tend to not dim very well from what I understand.

My LED rope light dims ok, but I do have it on the same circuit/GE zone as my 4 step lights. My 2 runs are about 18' on each side. Others have had much success dimming the led rope from 1000bulbs.
Here is a linke to what they call mini rope light, not sure if this is small enough for you.

Other than this the only thing I can think of is the LED lights you can buy at IKEA.

If memory serves, the 1000bulbs LED stuff is .8 watts per foot, so you need 32+ feet of rope in your soffit for a grafik eye to dim. I had zero issue with it in my old build where I used about 40-45 feet (I think).

I installed a synthetic load on a Grafik Eye channel with only 9 feet of LED rope light, and it dims fine.

thanks for the input all. I plan to tap off of one of my column sconce. The LED is indeed very expensive for about a 15 ft piece, which is all I need. I will look at the regular ones. The IKEA one look good too, but may take a couple kits to get to approx. 15 ft.
