The US release of Freddy vs Jason just came out yesterday Sept. 8. Has anyone here had a chance to check it out? The retail price is $11.49 on Amazon and I want to pick it up, but I'm afraid it could be a New Line DNR disaster.

Anyone find reviews so far?

I just saw this movie today at Walmart for $10. I'm waiting for some reviews myself to decide if is it worth the 10 dollars.:D

I think I might run to Wal-Mart tonight and see if they have it. $10 is a steal considering I paid $15 for the DVD when it was first released. I'll post back if I get it. I'm hoping Warner does it jusice. This is one of my guilty pleasures.

if you enjoy the movie pick it up. The PQ is REALLY good for a Warner Back catalog title. It is HUGE leaps and bounds over the DVD PQ. I was honestly surprised how good it looks

Does anybody know if the PQ and AQ on this version is better than the Canadian disc?

I didn't know it was only $10. Sounds like a good risk to take to check it out.

Can't find any information, nor reviews. :confused:I don't think Warner has sent out review copies. At least, nothing from this wave has washed up at the HQ for the site I review for...

The PQ is very good for the most part. The Nightmare on Elm Street flashbacks in the beginning were not as good though. For $10, it's definitely worth it.

Picked it up last night. Picture quality is very good. I watched a few scenes and they look noticeably more detailed than the DVD version that I compared it to. The soundtrack, particularly the low end, seemed more pronounced and less boomy on the Bluray to me. Maybe it was because it was late and I couldn't turn it up.

I was impressed with what I saw. It didn't look DNR'd to me but I was watching on a Panasonic AE900, which is somewhat soft due to the smooth screen technology as well as my viewing distance. 7 feet from an 84-inch screen.

You guys just convinced me to get this movie. At least the sound and picture quality is gonna be better than the dvd . It's great that we are seeing a bunch of bluray movies for $10.

I figured for under $20 it would be worth it. Also picked up Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) for $15. Under $20 for a catalog title is a price point many other companies need to follow. I saw My Cousin Vinny on Bluray for $30 at another store and just shook my head. I love that movie but $30 is just too much.

After hearing the positive feedback, I've gone ahead and put in my order on Amazon. I definitely trust you guys on judging picture quality. :)

Just watched this. The PQ is very good. If you're a fan of the movie, it's definitely worth the $10 that it can be found for.

Yeah, it's a guilty-pleasure movie for me too. Can't argue it is great scripting/plotting/acting on almost any level... but hard to beat entertainment value for <$10.
