View Full Version : Quick Calman Question
joemacjr1 09-10-09, 06:38 PM Is there a report, or can one be created that gives the individual gamma points for each color at each IRE step. I'm was able to use HCFR to get this information from the GAMMA graph . I wanted to try Calman to get the same data. It seem's that I get more consistent readings from Calman.
Thanks
Joe

Not sure about the various versions, but CalMAN Professional has this feature.

Do you know which report or calibration step. I found the Gamma RGB graph, but not a data grid or the ability to roll over points on the graph to get the actual gamma values for each color. I have only found the gamma data grid that has the "white" gamma values.
thanks for the reply.

I believe the chart you're looking for is Gamma RGB, you can find it in design mode under Grayscale->Luminance Charts.
joemacjr1 09-10-09, 10:27 PM I might be missing something obvious, but does that chart allow you to get the actual gamma values for each color. I have found the Data fields for Avg G and Current G, which I assume is for the White or Y gamma. I'm looking to get the Current G Red, Current G Blue, Current G Green if possible.
I have attached an example from HCRF that shows the values I can get by rolling over the points on the chart for Blue IRE 60 gamma 2.43.
thanks

Yes that's exactly what I'm talking about.
What license do you have for calman?
What mode are you using to do your calibration?
Like I said in my above post the name of the chart you are looking for is called "Gamma RGB".
joemacjr1 09-11-09, 12:40 AM I have the Home license for the i1Pro. I use the advanced mode to do the calibration. I do see the Gamma RGB chart, and it has the individual colors on the chart, but I don't see a way to get the values for the gamma for each color.
Here is the page that I thought I would be able to use.
thanks for your help.

You're right, that's the data charted there, but the actual numbers aren't availalbe in any user interface I can find.
Maybe Derek can correct me if I'm wrong.
Granted the app should give you the data you want in the format you want, but the data formated in a similiar fashion is available in alot of places, is their a percise need for the individual gamma numbers, or is that just how you were used to working prior to calman?
Also you can use the zoom tool to get a pretty good estimation of the number.
joemacjr1 09-11-09, 08:08 AM Actually there is a specific need for the values. I have an RS20 and there is a gamma spread sheet created by another forum member that uses these numbers to calculate the adjustment needed to flatten the gamma curve. You can adjust the gamma curve for each color using the procedure, but you need the actual readings to enter into the spreadsheet.
Oh well, hopefully it will be available in a future release.
thanks for looking into this.

Well you can probably eyeball it to some degree and then fine tune it. It is unfortunate that the data is in there, but inaccesible.
ToBeFrank 09-11-09, 11:31 AM I also have the home version. You can view the individual gamma numbers like you're asking about. I'll try to remember to look at it and let you know how to set it up when I get home.

Thank would be great.
