I am sad to say that my love affair with both my BH200 and my BD-UP5000 has ended. I sold them both along with my Blu-Ray and HD-DVD collection on eBay last week.
I had decided to do this because my wife and I had simply not watched many of our Blu-Rays and/or HD-DVDs for months. Plus we needed the money because we recently found out we are expecting a baby.
In a way, this posting is a eulogy. So, in remembrance I must say that the BH200 was my favorite. The BD-UP5000 was awesome but was a little buggy for me.
I will miss the world of Blu-Ray and HD-DVD viewing and maybe some day HD-DVD will be supported (and resurrected) in some obscure player or maybe it'll only live in my and many others memories forever.
Even though both players as well as the disk collection added up to a pretty penny as an initial investment, I was still able to get back some good coin from the sale of everything. But most importantly, I got much enjoyment from it all for almost three years.
Goodbye, you will be missed in my mind, my heart, and ultimately my home theater.
