I am trying to record a dvd that will play audio in my current setup.

HDMI from DVR to TV
HDMI from DVD player(standard def) to TV
S-Video from DVR to DVD player(standard def)

When I try to record a DVD it says HDMI audio not supported. When I play the burned dvd it does not have audio, however, if i play it in a dvd player not using hdmi, the audio works. Also it works in my ps3 which uses HDMI. Is it just as simple as standard def dvd recorders do not support burned dvd hdmi audio, or is there a way to make this work? Also, regular dvd movies work fine, it's just the ones i burn. I tried a different dvd player that also uses hdmi and the problem persists.

Thanks for any feedback in advance.

What are your trying to record? Where's the DVD recorder and how is it connected? A DVD recorder would need to have stereo analog input for audio.

Then you need to connect the analog stereo to the same input on the recorder.
