HI,
This morning I decided to finally install the v316 software into my CBIII. I followed the instructions, the PC and the CBIII connected, I pressed Upgrade on the Downloader software, selected the v316 zip file, ...everything was fine and then the screen of the CBIII has the message "UPDATING SOFTWARE" and the Theta Digital Downloader has a message saying "Download Failed"
Any idea what should I do?

Other than try again making sure that there is nothing else running in the background on your PC, no. Also might be worth disabling anti-virus, firewalls etc, after disconnecting from the outside world.
Seem to recall that I had to download to the default location directly instead of telling the TDD where to look. I don't recall whether I had to unzip first or not.

WHat's the operating system of your PC? Do you have a RS232 port on your PC or are you using a USB to 232 converter (like I do with my laptop).

The operating system is Windows XP and I am using a USB to 232 converter.
I tried to run the process again but still no luck. Any suggestions?

You may need to set a different COM port for the converter. I use Com4 with my Keyspan adapter which works like a charm. Have you used the converter successfully with any other gear? It sounds like getting your converter to work is your issue.

I always used the Crystal CBIII software on Com 2 with no problem. In any case, apparently the update worked, despite not really finishing the process, because now I can access the DLOCK /WIDE option, however, it removed all my settings on speaker configuration, etc...so I am restoring all my configuration now...
It's weird...anyway, I'll see how it performs over the next few days and if I have problems I'll call my dealer.

I've lost my Crystal CBIII editor SW after reinstall my PC, and the SW isn't available any more at Theta website. Would any one be so kind to email me this file ?
Got the SW from Theta today by mail. Thanks a lot to tech support. Quick response :):)
