Well I finally received my PDP and all I can say is WOW now I have not calibrated this unit as of yet, just reading over the manual, but I went to update the firmware and to my surprise
I have 1011 firmware, and a new board this unit was built last month and no buzzing very quite
And the blacks look black and I mean black.

I will be checking for 24p 96 hz from what my Samsung rep have said that this new firmware gives me
96hz

Here are a few picks and thanks to MycableMart for the cables

The pics of WWE Raw, they look like they are in HD, but why are there black bars on the sides?

To my knowledge, No Samsung plasma has 96hz capability. And i don't think a firmware update can change that.

But i've been wrong before!;)

ya thanks i like that silver base, as well i went into the system menu and looks as if the advance option has been blocked on the 1011 firmware as well u can change the model of the PDP but it is no use cant seem to get advance to work

Cinema Smooth = 96Hz, so yeah they've had it. The 860 already had it -- as did the 6 Series and the 560 and above in the 5 Series. And it has since been discovered and reported here that those with models that didn't have it be default, including the 850, 550, 540, etc. (don't know about the 4 Series) can activate the feature in the service menu.

Yepper, i was wrong:o

I checked on the Samsung website, and they have it has a no for Cinema smooth. They must call it something else for the 850 model.

Thanks for the correction.......

Oh, well it sure looks HD :)

There is probably an option somewhere on your cable box that will allow you to stretch your SD channels to fill the whole screen.

I would stretch your content to full screen. That will get rid of any IR you have. Saying 'burn in' is what scares potential plasma buyers and perpetuates the myth of burn in and plasma. I use ZOOM 1 when watching SD on both of my plasmas. I think it works great. The screen gets clipped a little, but that doesn't bother anyone in my house. Congrats on your new set!:) JoeB
