Anyone using the Monoprice "Component HD" cable?
I need a second cable, so that I can make my spare X360 more portable. I actually need a third cable, so I can rework it as an optical adapter to use in conjunction with HDMI.
A lot of the early reviews said it had QC problems, but all the later reviews were all thumbs up; which is the same thing I saw with the same type of Wii cable, and the two of those I have work just fine. My guess is that there was some sort of QC or Materials problem, and they got things hammered out; I work with a Chinese sub-contractor to build cable harnesses etc., and these things do happen occasionally in the early stages.
Anyhow, good - bad - indifferent, I would like to hear peoples experiences.

give it a try I say. Their reputation is so good that even if it sucks they will take it back (serious)

That's what I figure. The cables have been available long enough, and I'm sure any glaring problems have been addressed with "corrective actions". I have been ordering from Monoprice for years, with a wide variety of products, and I personally never had a single problem.
Plus, like you said, I could always ask for a refund/replacement. Although, from MA->CA, the "return" shipping costs as much as the cables! I need to order some other stuff too, so I will give it a try either way...

I don't know if my cable is the old version or "corrected" but I bought their combo composite/componant/s-video cable about a year ago and it works great. I was living out of a hotel half the year and it was plugged-unplugged on a daily basis. Signal quality has always been excellent and the cables still look brand new.

things I have gotten from them that have been great:
100 feet of heavy gauge speaker wire for $20
HDMI cable I think it was 20 feet or so for about 20 bucks if memory serves me
projector mount for 30 bucks that needed some tweaking but works perfect now
as you can see, they have great deals. Need an hdmi switcher box soon from them

If you think you might need to return something open it carefully and if you do need to return it put it back in the package, tape it shut with clear shipping tape, and write return to sender on the shipping lable.
