I am trying to decide between 3 different 50" plasmas. the Panasonic S1, the LG PS80, or the Samsung B550. That is my spending limit, wont pay for the G10 or the B650. LG seems to be the most expensive, the Samsung second and the Panasonic is the cheapest. I like that the LG and Samsung have 4 HDMI rather than 3 like the Panasonic. I will be hooking up a Xbox 360, PS3 (for blue ray and gaming), Time Warner HD cable box, and possibly a Wii from time to time. So i need 3 HDMI, the 3rd HDMI for the panasonic is on the side, which could get annoying, or i could just use component for the cable box. doubt there would be a huge difference seeing its not 1080p like the xbox and ps3. dont need to hook up to computer ever. and will eventually be getting a sound system so speakers are important at the moment. let me know what you guys think, thank you

Try to go to a store and look at the picture on the Panasonic and Samsung. Although store environment is not optimum viewing conditions, it still gives you a sense of what is good to your eyes.

Samsung has a very good picture by most accounts. Panasonic plasma was and is the plasma incumbent.

I went with Panasonic because PQ and reliability, but it's just me.

When choosing from these, I would go with the Samsung hands down the best set. BUT, why not check out the X1. Much better choice than the S1 in my opinion, and very good value for money.

Panny S1 is definitely the way to go between the 3. # of hdmi isnt really important, if you dont have a hdmi receiver you can always just get a cheap hdmi switch...

I bought the Samsung B550 the other week because the price was one I couldn't pass up, no buzz, picture quality is great, I'd recommend it.

i decided to go with the panasonic 50" s1. its the best bang for the dollar. its about 150-200 cheaper than the samsung. next step, home audio! lol

I am looking at purchasing a 50" Samsung 550 or a Panasonic G10. This would be my first plasma purchase. I looked at plasmas and lcd and I think plasmas have a better picture. Does anyone have any suggestions???
