I know theres an old thread about this. but it's over a year old and I didn't know if the information was still revlant.
By the sounds of it the power bricks are $$, and it might be better to get a 2nd 360?

It depends on which brick you need, because the first-gen bricks have a different plug IIRC (which can be found as cheap as $30 on ebay). For the 2nd&3rd gen, which have the same plug, they are rare to find used (low RROD rates) and much more expensive. When I looked for a new one last year it was like $100 IIRC, so I just bought an Arcade for $200...
I'm using a 2nd gen Pro 60gb from last christmas.
Where would I get one new?
I don't like the idea of having two 360's due to DRM crap, the second xbox location isn't on a tradiontal highspede (a cell phone stick)
Through it would be nice to take my laptop and just the 360 HDD

It is really tough to find a 2nd gen one new, maybe on the M$ XBOX website?

any brick as new or OLDER will work, a newer brick will not work, they are all back compat, and none forward.
