View Full Version : Streaming an HD movie through XBOX SysAdmNj 09-15-09, 11:29 AM If I was to download a 1080p HD movie and stream it on my xbox elite through my harman kardon 347 receiver using the component inputs, and hdmi output into my 1080p plasma would it actually be 1080p on my screen or close? Ripeer 09-15-09, 11:32 AM You better come up with legit source for a downloaded 1080P movie before people yell piracy SysAdmNj 09-15-09, 11:49 AM You better come up with legit source for a downloaded 1080P movie before people yell piracy Oh did I say downloaded, I meant playing my 1080p movie in my player on my pc upstairs and streaming it to my xbox downstairs or something. eblend 09-15-09, 12:35 PM Take a look at "Divx Tech Preview" for Windows 7 which allows you to stream MKV to all your extenders (don't know if your talking normal computer or a media center enabled on) SysAdmNj 09-15-09, 01:00 PM Just talking normal windows xp computer running orb. Slordak 09-15-09, 03:47 PM I don't understand the question. What format is the source movie in, and where does it physically reside when you're trying to play it? The requirements and Xbox 360 bitrate/codec support are not always the same for a file stored locally as they would be for one stored remotely, and many people have real-time transcoding being done at the PC side during streaming which further influences this. mboojigga 09-15-09, 04:30 PM If I was to download a 1080p HD movie and stream it on my xbox elite through my harman kardon 347 receiver using the component inputs, and hdmi output into my 1080p plasma would it actually be 1080p on my screen or close? To answer your question, no it won't. You are connecting by component and your Harman Kardon only does 1080p through HDMI. |
