Hey all. been in the midst of a move so haven't been in the forums. i picked up a 50" sammy plasma (b850 for the curious) for my new crib and have been watching mostly blu-rays and double layer dvds. however, tonight i popped in an avi file (smaller than 700 megs; "ghost" swayze in memoriam) by means of a usb flash drive, just out of curiosity. i expected it to be horrendous looking, but shockingly, it actually looks almost as good as some dvds. i wonder if others have had similar experiences...
Do you hear any buzzing on your set?

I play AVIs on my plasma all the time and yes, they do look almost as good as DVD... i guess thats the result of constantly improving codecs.

...yes. however, i found that when i press on the back of the panel, the buzzing is reduced significantly. so basically i feel i can live with it, because when i mount it, even if i have to do a "home job" i know i will be able to reduce the buzz to a tolerable level. not optimum, i realize, but...
Yes they look really great (at least much better than I expected them to) on my Pioneer 50" as well.
next try a 10Gb+ 1080p blu-ray rip
