Guaranteed that the key word that was left out is "yet". Pretty soon it will be cheaper to build a 250GB drive over a 120GB, at which point we will see 250's. Besides, Microsoft really does want you to buy as much digital content as possible.

Actually there is custom painted limited edition ODST xbox 360 console but it isn't for sale. Best Buy is doing an exclusive give away of one per day to Reward Zone Gamers Club members. I have read the fine print but it doesn't say anything about hard drive size so I would assume it is still the 120GB drive.

Nope, they already did a limited edition Halo box so if they do another one then what makes it limited? Also I don't think MS and Bungie are as tight as they were... just my opinion.

Okay, let's look at the potential targeted consumers. If you are a consumer without a next gen console or are looking to buy your first 360, then this is THE bundle for you. If you factor the retail price of the game and extra controler, which you had planned on buying anyway, then you're receiving another 130 GB of hard drive for only ten bucks more. That is a pretty sweet deal.

The next targeted group is much smaller as it consists of consumers that already own a xbox 360 but they're interested in a larger hard drive capacity and then there's consumers that are crazy about the Modern Warfare franchise and are willing to pay for the limited edition console (it seems like a few people in this thread fall into this group).

Now, those are the factors that I'm weighing because, by the same token, it's still a multi-platform game. Microsoft is in the business of making money, which means getting consumers to buy their product and to take business away from their competitors. A redundant point, I know, but stay with me. In my first two paragraphs, I tried to illustrate MS plan to target new customers. However, I don't really see them stealing much steam from Sony because, if you already own a PS3, then you'll be buying it for that console.

Call of Duty has sold very well on PS3, even with the smaller install base. So, I'm missing how they would steal consumers from the other side, or if they ever intended to do so. We know with Halo, or any other exclusive, you obviously have to buy the console if you want to play that game. That's the way it's been with bundles going back Mario.

Halo is their magic four letter word. Someone just mentioned "expansion pack" and "four year old engine." Matters not, it's going to sell five million copies; probably even less than twelve months. We've been having that discussion in the ODST thread, so I digress.

Resident 5 had an exclusive bundle with Microsoft. The game sold even with MS and Sony. It could be because Capcom is a Japanese based company and PS3 is stronger in Japan than the 360, if I'm playing devil's advocate. I'd like to see the sales numbers for the RE5, MSG4, and Halo 3 bundles just for S & Gs. I'd like to hear other opinions as well.

Same here. I was about to buy an elite since I finally sold my house, then heard the rumors of the Forza 3 box so held off. Since I was planning on getting this game too went ahead and preordered. If they do announce a Forza 3 box, I'll order that instead. Seems kinda close to have two different editions released though...

I just had to replace my original Elite with a new one at the $299 price. I mean I do like the security of the bigger hard drive as I would not have purchased an Elite if I didn't but I just don't seem to be eating up the space available on my existing (still at 97.1 avail.) and I have a lot of stuff on there. Now the one thing that did save my a** is I have a Zune and being able to stream all of my music versus putting it on the Console's hard drive is a plus and with Zune HD streaming to the XBOX I may never use the space I have.

True, I needed the memory increase for game installs. Plus I don't really need a 3rd XBOX until next summer, when I plan on dedicating my old Falcon Pro to my Outdoor AV setup (cookout season is basically over already here in MA...), by then there will likely be better deals!

I personnaly think that it makes more sense to make bundles for multiplatform games. People that want to play Halo for example, would have bought a regualr Xbox anyways. However, if someone walks into a store and is tossing up between a PS3 and Xbox to play this particluar game, I think people would sway towards the xbox because of this deal. This deal also intices current Xbox owners to maybe gat another console for teh other room. I was planning on getting another Xbox anyways, probably an elite, but this package is good enough value to get instead. The only thing that I would want to know in advance, however, is if the transfer cable will work going from 120G --> 250G.

ALSO, the map packs are going to be be time released 1st on the Xbox as part of the deal, thus if one were a die hard MW fanatic, and a PS3 only person, it might be a good enough incentive to add the Xbox to make the jump over.......

Yes. This is how it works for pretty much any place that takes pre-orders. If you were to go to Gamestop.com you can pre-order for the nearest store or have it delievered to your home.

Wow they are going bundle crazy right now. And this is with their psuedo "relaunch" next year. The MW2 bundle looks awesome but do I upgrade now when my current console is working for me fine and there might be a better bundle next year. Geesh its now like buying a TV.

The thread is about a 250 gig Xbox 360 bundle with 2 wireless controllers and a new release game. Talking about your desires for a slightly alternate take of this bundle didn't strike me as off topic when I wrote it, so I'm sorry that it bothered anyone.

There was nothing in my post that was meant to get anyone riled up. I just wanted to express my thoughts that not everyone likes 360's that have been customized aesthetically for any game. It had nothing to do with the game its bundled with (Which I intend to purchase).

I'd just rather see a second version of this bundle with an uncustomized version of the console paired with another one of Fall's major releases (Forza came to mind because it's been rumored so much). I'd of posted the same thoughts if this was about a Forza 3 bundle with a 3 plastered on the top of the console. It's just not appealing to some people, even when they enjoy the game the branding ties into.

I'd love to get this and the Halo edition 360, side by side. I like the look of each and love specialized systems like this. You could go broke back during the PSX/Saturn/Dreamcast days buying all the specialized systems produced for each console.

I would to try and pick up the MW2 360 Bundle that is coming out when the game releases in early November. I would like to get it at Gamestop because I have a couple of pre-orders of upcoming games that are paid in full that I wont need anymore. So I am going to list what I have that I can get rid of trying to see what my fellow AVS's think is the best way to get the $430.00 I need foir the MW2 Bundle.

1. Halo 3:ODST pre-order paid in full $64.00 in GS credit(now picking up a copy at TRU so GS copy no longer needed)

2. Modern Warfare 2 Hardend Edition pre-order paid in full $85.00 in GS credit(will get a copy of the regular edition in the bundle)

3. Another Halo 3:ODST pre-order with about $11.00 on it(I traded in 1 game and used this to get the 25% boost on the TIV)

I don't think you'd get to $270 even if you traded in all of it. Put it on eBay and you might get a little bit more. But I wouldn't trade in the cables if I were you, considering this new system will probably just have a composite cable like all the other ones.

Man I wish they just had this without the MW2 theme. I had one of my 360's stolen so this would be a great option to replace it. I'm not into any of CoD games or limited edition 360's. I wish they sold just a plain black version. I really need the HDD space so I can install more than a few games on it.
