View Full Version : NHL 10...where's the league thread???
slyderulz 09-16-09, 06:52 PM I didn't think NHL09 could be improved on, but the boarding really changes the way you play defensively and really adds more strategy to the dump and chase in the offensive zone.
I played tons of BAP mode with 09 and did well, obviously online is a different animal. Unfortunately none of my friends that I play with online have the game (they're mostly FPS fragheads).
How can I get in on a league?
whiskey > work 09-16-09, 07:22 PM won't be getting it for at least another week

Interested in league!
slyderulz 09-16-09, 07:45 PM Well that's 3.
Whoever is interested we can get on each other's friends list. GT: SlydeRulZ. I don't know if it would be better to get a party of 6 and get online or if we should start here:

Anyone who has done this before, I'm open to suggestions.
cueCrew 09-16-09, 08:28 PM With the games taking so long to play, you almost have to schedule times. It would be great if you could join and take the place of a CPU character. Otherwise you just see what period everyone else is in.:D
Oh whoops, I thought this was for franchise and not club lol.
I'm interested in franchise even though it's kind of brutal in NHL.

brah I'm so poor right now narwhal woudld make nice meal
Gariputo 09-17-09, 07:01 PM I'm enjoying 10 so far, although besides the board play not much has changed.
How does the EASHL work? Can any two or more from a team can play at any time or does a full 6 need to be around at a certain time? I only ever played 09 offline.
cueCrew 09-18-09, 09:18 AM I didn't pre-order, but my GamesStop NHL10 came with the Kane boost pack code inside. I'll take it, considering how slowly my NHL09 player evolved. Played my first game- a lot of the same good good. I like the option to pick a fight after the whistle, but don't know how many takers you will get to off-set a penalty on your way to the box.
ferrisg 09-18-09, 02:44 PM I'd be interested in joining a club if the game allows you to play when not everyone's present. I don't always have time to fit in game-playing, especially one that can take awhile like hockey. Does the BAP character gain experience while playing online?

Was the code printed on the manual, or a seperate card inside the box?

It was on an insert. Then again, it was open when I got it, so I don't know if it was on the outside or not.
cueCrew 09-19-09, 10:08 AM I played a little BAP and an online game. I'm not sure how I feel about the way they are doing boosts and perks. Basically, you unlock the spot to load a boost on skates, stick and helmet. Then you have to unlock the actual boost to put in those slots. You can also purchase these with MS points.
So you can buy your way up the ranks a la WOW? The crazy graphics on the stick, helmet and skates are interesting to a point, but they give a real "pick-up" game look to league matches and the colors are all over the place. It might be worthwhile to have a pro mode that at least standardizes the color schemes if not the artwork to maintain branding and consistency.
Well, I was dusted in my first online fight and I still can't win a face-off so it looks like the greatness of NHL09 was been preserved!
