The Oct 2009 issue of Sound & Vision (http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/) magazine has an article by Gary Dell'Abate (aka Gadget Gary; aka Howard Stern's executive producer) that touts the benefits of professionally calibrating a TV. He had TweakTV (http://www.tweaktv.com/) calibrate his Samsung Series 4 50" plasma and he was very pleased with the results.

The article is subtitled "Getting your TV calibrated will open your eyes."
