Facebook, Pandora radio and SnapFish are some of the Internet applications that will be available on HP’s new line of connected screens, announced Sept. 17.

The HP DreamScreen 100 ($249) will be available starting Oct. 11 at BestBuy.com, Amazon.com and HPDirect.com, and measures 10.2 inches. Its bigger brother, the HP DreamScreen 130 (13.3 inches; $299) should be available this fall. Intended for smaller rooms in the house, such as the kitchen, the screens feature wireless or wired Internet connections, and come with 2GB of built-in memory and built-in speakers.

“Constant, always-on access to friends, information and entertainment is a common expectation today,” said Satjiv S. Chahil, SVP of worldwide marketing for HP’s Personal Systems Group. “With HP DreamScreen, social media, Web services and digital entertainment can be enjoyed in more areas of the home.”

I bought the 100 model couple weeks ago. It works fairly well for what I wanted, but it isnt without issues.

I dont know of a competing device though....

I will do a writeup for the forum here when I get time. There are very few in-depth looks at the device on the net so far.
