I mean are you sitting in front of FOX news (i assume fox) and waiting to post on AVS? mark haflich 09-18-09, 08:47 AM Thanks for the post Steve. Steve Bruzonsky 09-18-09, 09:47 AM Steve, did you really feel that this needed posting here? I mean are you sitting in front of FOX news (i assume fox) and waiting to post on AVS? I get e-mails from fellow Az AV Cluib members tellin' me stuff faster than I can get on the news. Been too busy with stuff to even watch the news for a week now. How about you? Actually, I developed an auto program. From now on every time someone famous dies related to the AV world, my eternally on PC will automatically start a thread on this at AVS just to piss off Dizz! Curt Palme 09-18-09, 09:49 AM If I had a hammer I'd hit her with it as I told her not to eat from the lemon tree. Now I urge you all to hang down your head and cry as her ashes my friend, are blowing in the wind Her ashes are blowing in the wind. Too soon? :D Dizzman 09-18-09, 01:04 PM Thanks for the slap up side the head Steve. I will consider myself admonished! Steve Bruzonsky 09-18-09, 02:43 PM Thanks for the slap up side the head Steve. I will consider myself admonished! I was much nicer than your head on frontal assault on me. If you would be nice, maybe Mark Haflich would tell us of the times he met Mary, talked with her, and saw and heard her in concert. Peter, Paul and Mary drove many folks into high end audio back then - you are likely too young to have any idea of that! And her passing is a loss to the high end audio community. Mozvz 09-18-09, 09:43 PM Steve, Thanks for posting this tribute to Mary. Of course I never met Mary or knew her personally, but growing up with this trio's music, I can honestly say their music always provided a happy, but reflective state of mind at a personal level. Mary always seemed like a very classy, intelligent, creative, talented, fun loving soul on stage. As the old guard of musicians in our generation slowly sail into the sunset, we can always reflect and appreciate their talent and the pleasant moments they provided. Here's a link to their web site with some comments from Peter and Noel Paul. http://www.peterpaulandmary.com/ QQQ 09-19-09, 12:25 AM I don't consider this thread appropriate either. I don't believe the woman sold enough albums or made enough money to qualify being eulogized in the ultra high-end forum. Eulogies for females rock stars in this forum should be limited to the likes of Madonna. This thread should have been put in the low end projector forum, along with the LCD threads, or maybe with some single chip DLP threads, but not here. Curt Palme 09-19-09, 12:29 AM OK, I'll throw a female singer at the audiophiles here. Googling not allowed. Annie Haslam. Anyone heard of her or her band? She and her band was my very first concert in 1976. I loved it, wish Sony DATs were around back then so I could have bootlegged that one! We were fortunate to have this band play numerous times at an old movie theater which seated may 250-300 people in my locale. My guess maybe 8-10 times throughout the years. I had a huge crush on this lady. Very talented band Renaissance. Steve Bruzonsky 09-19-09, 10:21 AM I don't consider this thread appropriate either. Mary had a lot more to do with high end audio or video than some of the dude's chastising me for posting this. HA!!!@@@ Curt Palme 09-19-09, 03:47 PM Curt, An old standby in my catalog.
