Greeting from PAL land. Does anyone know if the Yamaha DVD-C950 has PAL cadence detection and properly deinterlaces PAL film material?

I have checked the owners manual and it seems that DCDi can be turned on but there are no options for forcing deinterlacing modes, you must rely on the DCDi chip to do its thing. This makes me think that Yamaha has only implemented the 2:3 part of the chip.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've manged to dig up some reviews of other yamaha players with the dcdi chipset. None of them seem to suppport 2:2 cadence. It's probably best if I assume the C950 is in the same boat. I'm trying to track down something that supports 2:2 (in hardware) and has component output. Back to watching Denon's on the bay.
