Just wondering does anyone here know what chip this uses?
I hear the Mediatek EXE chip in the dv-610 is one of the best for PAL
but if this dvr only has the FE (I hear this is bad at PAL stuff) I think
I would leave it...
Any help would be great
Thanks

It is difficult to eyeball this for you, the Pioneer 560 (and other current Pio models) have their motherboards, including encoder chip, sandwiched inside their burner casings. Removal and disassembly of the 560 burner is very tedious, so we haven't had anyone report what chip is buried in there. Try sending your question via direct email to Hakan at PioneerFAQ, the worlds biggest archive of Pioneer recorder info: if anyone knows which encoder chip is used in the 560, he does:

To avoid spammers flooding his inbox, I have spelled out the email address above: replace "AT" with "@" and "DOT" with "." before using the link:).
