Looks like the son got a little karma payback for hitting his dad with the ball so many times last week. :)

I thought the same thing - felt kind of like the occasional jokes on Arrested Development that carry over into future episodes.

This episode reminded me of the pilot. Clumsily trying to be a good dad, Phil shoots everyone in sight, including himself, with a BB Gun. Hilarious. Ty Burrell really deserved that Emmy.

Not to mention David Cross in these two most recent episodes. :p

I saw a tweet yesterday that mentioned Julie Bowen's recent Leno appearance.

Late Night: Julie Bowen's frighteningly good pelican impersonation (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2011/10/late-night-julie-bowen-does-eerily-good-pelican-impersonation.html)

As the nurse at my dr's office was trying to open a bandage after taking blood, I asked her if she saw last nite's episode...

Funny episode. Two favorite quotes "I have a hard time seeing Clint Eastwood in that shirt." and " I got grass stains!"

"Two of you are in for a big adjustment."

Easily my favorite Cam storyline. Loved the asides Mitchell was saying as Cam was on the phone trying to say he was gay.

And Jennifer Tilly continues to be sexy.

The cam story line was the only funny one. I didn't laugh much in this episode except for a few cam momments. Not much going on in this one.

Somehow seeing Jennifer Tilly and her...uh...accessories onscreen at the same time as Sofia Vergara and her...uh...accessories...I found myself smitten at the quality of their....uh...acting chops...

Jennifer Tilly and Sofia in the same scenes.....gold!!!!

However the only funny story line was Cam and the girl. Phil with the treehouse not funny. Claire and the oldest daughter was so unfunny.

Yeah, the only good parts of the last episode were Cam's storyline and Jennifer Tilly's "assets" :D

I also enjoyed Leslie Mann's cameo.

yeah, a mom would take an attractive teenager and drop her off in the woods far from home and say good luck. Not hardly and how did the writers think this piece was even remotely funny????

I thought that was totally out of character for Claire too.

Probably the worst episode of the season. The whole Claire story line just seemed off.

"Public access pervert"...LOL! Phil was in classic form :D

Gloria teased us a bit too as she was about to jump in the pool. Got excited there for a moment when it looked like she was going to strip!

I seldom laugh so hard that I cry, but I did last night. :D

Julie Bowen's debate, her family's critique of her "flaws," Lilly's cursing - it all rang so true to life. This is an instant classic. I put it up there with the Chuckles the clown episode of Mary Tyler Moore.

There is no way I'd go that far, but it was one of the better outings this season...

I didn't think it was THAT funny. Good episode, laughed sometimes, there were better episodes. This show is consistently funny and one of the better comedies on TV.

Best episode in a while. Perhaps the best this season. Most shows seem to get laughs at the expense of consistency of characters' established behavior, but Modern Family both shows the characters growing and the has the humor arise from who the characters are.

The Parents Television Council wanted ABC to pull this episode before they had even seen it because of the word you don't see or hear, as did some self-righteous idiot in the "No Cussing Club."

Stonestreet responded with "Lily didn’t ACTUALLY say FU*K. She said fudge. How bout see the episode, THEN form an opinion."

And followed up with "And now the "I feel really stupid for making something out of nothing" feelings set in for the people who made something out of nothing."

The foul-mouthed-Lily bit just wasn't as funny as I thought it might be.

This. All the hoopla over her saying the word and it wasn't even that funny.

Not one of their funniest outings. The Dumphey girls and boy singlehandedly saved the show.

Still better than most any of the other sitcoms.

The show is very uneven week to week. Some weeks it's hilarious and some weeks we get....eh.

See, and my house thought it was one of the funniest along with my coworkers. I guess everyone's tastes are different

It may not have been one of the top MF episodes, but still had some funny lines and moments, I thought. I loved Luke's line about "monster'ating".

Great dialog gag! I was beginning to think I was the only one who noticed. I usually watch each episode at least twice. Lines like the above are the reason why.

It was good, but I thought the debate episode was funnier. I did enjoy Cam and Mitch driving around and abusing the intercom.

Ending was sweet too with the family supporting Haley after she finds out she got wait-listed on her final college application.

Tonight's episode takes place in Disneyland, obviously a corporate relative of ABC. But, the cute part is that Modern Family is a 20th Century production.

Gotta love a 20th Century production crew on the property of ABC owned Disney.

I'm sure that this isn't the only time something like that has happened.

Enjoy the episode;

It's fairly routine, actually. For example, "Happy Endings" is produced by Sony Television, shoots on the Viacom owned Paramount Studios back lot, and airs on ABC.

The rival media conglomerates use each other's properties all the time.
