I liked it. Loved all the leading ladies, quite an all star cast. It's got a spot on the DVR.

Is this the first post about this show? I searched but couldn't find another topic about it.

A quick search shows no other threads for this. I guess you are it.

That guy is no Jack Nickolson. But I can tell I'm going to like this show a lot. Sexy ladies, spooky magic. Humor. Even a bit of the True Blood theme song.

Even if it's only you and I talking about it.

Yes, I enjoyed it too. Looks like it will be interesting, lots of directions it can go. It's been too long since I saw the movie, so I can't comment on that. If I recall there was a small spate of witch movies with this one and Practical Magic coming to mind.

All the actresses are pretty hot, definite plus there, and the setting is nice, another plus. Anyone notice the fall color scheme and the wisteria blooming at the one house? And all the tomatoes, something going on there...

This could be fun.

I thought it was OK. I'll give it another week or two to see where they take it.

You know, at the end of an estrogen-filled evening of TV viewing with my wife (Mercy, Modern Family, Courgartown) I thought this was the best of the lot. The casting was strong; I didn't mind the Jack Nicholson character as some critics did. I guess I'm a sucker for a supernatural element.

I did notice a trend in all these new shows that quippy writing seems to be becoming the norm. Every character seemed to have their witty asides, after a night of it, it got a little annoying.

I thought it was rather stiffly acted, but okay. My wife, however, loved it. Which may be a better clue as to the program's success than my feelings <G>

I decided to check this show out after recently watching Rebecca Romijn on the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien .
Rebecca looked absolutely HOT as does Lindsay Price.
I really liked the whole sexy librarian look that Lindsay had going on.
Couldn't help but notice that Rebecca has put on a little weight which looks good on her.
Her face and her bosom are much fuller than when she was doing her supermodel gig.
Hard to tell if this show will fly or not, but the babes look good. :)

This didn't seem to get much hype prior to the premier episode--sorta flew in under the radar. I'm glad I dvr'd it--thoroughly enjoyable pilot episode, well cast, well written, with lots of room for interesting developments in the future. Rebecca definitely looks better than in her skinny years. Was surprised to see Kyle XY as her boytoy.

Wasn't she in X-Men as the blue thing? If that is the case she has added a lot of weight. Not that she looks bad, she is still hot, but what a change.

Those of us of a certain age who grew up watching Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Sophia Loren, Anita Ekberg, Raquel Welch, etc. really welcome the change. It's been too many years of the likes of Julia Roberts and Callista Flockhart.

I watched this with the wife last night. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood, but I found much of it a little annoying. The acting and dialogue was pretty stilted and I didn't buy that the 3 leading ladies would "bond" so quickly.

As a fan of Lindsey Price though, I'm willing to give this another shot (or two).

Btw - Wasn't that town the same one used for Gilmore Girls? (I'm almost certain it's a hollywood set used by many shows/movies) I'm not referring to the overhead establishing shots, but the ones when they're actually shown in-town.

I believe it is as well, pretty sure it's the same "town square" as used in the Ghost Whisperer. Pretty soon we'll start seeing characters from other shows wandering through the scene these lots get used so much. :D

Yeah, Mystique. The blue thing.

There was another blue thing in the second movie (Kurt "Nightcrawler" Wagner) and the third movie (Hank "The Beast" McCoy).

Anybody still watching this? We dropped it from the DVR list after the 2nd to most recent episode. I knew it was a bad sign when my wife offered up unsolicited "this show is dumb."

Couldn't say that I disagreed with her and the primary reason we were watching is as token to her with all the "male" stuff we normally watch. Poor acting and dialogue and a plot that seems to be going nowhere in particular, or at least is slow going about it. Plus, it seems like there was a "festival" of some sort every week we watched.

The main bright spot for us was the guy playing Daryl Van Horn...the guy has some charisma. But then I guess you'd almost have to in playing that part. I like Lindsey Price too, but I want to see her in something else that more befits her talent.

Agree with others that it's strange to see Rebecca Romjin so plumped up too. She's certainly not obese by any means but I found her immensely more attractive in Femme Fatale for example. The weight doesn't seem to suit her to me...

Anyway, I don't normally appreciate those "this show sucks" posts in other threads that I participate, but I wanted to chime in since I had previously posted here as to liking the show. No new posts in almost 3 weeks might indicate there's not a huge amount of interest anymore with others though.

I'm still watching, it's quirky enough to keep my interest, although I agree that the overall plot needs to move along a little quicker, and I can do with a lot less of the Jamie Ray Newman(forget the character's name) marriage drama in large part because I don't care for the actor who plays the husband.

As far as Romijn's weight, I think she looks just fine. For one, it's likely a lot closer to what "real" people look like, which is refreshing to see for a TV show, and I'll bet it's a lot closer to her "natural" weight than the thin, model-type she has been in the past. She's a tall woman, probably 5'11" or so, so she going to be carry a fair amount of weight anyway.

I do expect that ABC will likely cancel the show though. I suspect that, left alone for awhile, it could get quite a bit better, but networks with twitchy trigger fingers don't allow that to happen much these days.

I'm still watching, but it's not a must see for me. Honestly, Wednesday's have nothing else to watch. I watch ABC from 8:00 to 11:00 if I'm watching at all, and I honestly don't really care either way for the whole block, just nothing else interests me on the other channels. As long as nothing shows up on Wednesday's, I'll probably keep watching Eastwick.

I don't know what I expected out of the show and don't really know what to expect. It's got a Desperate Housewives tone, but seems a bit darker, but it's hard to take it to serious. Time will tell I guess.

I don't think anyone else has mentioned.. but "that guy" is Paul Gross, Canadian actor who had a very popular series called "Due South" a few years back. More recently, he starred in an AMC series called "Slings & Arrows." I for one was very glad to see him again. I think he's aged very well, and gives us 'grown-up' women some nice eye-candy for a change. :D

I'm still watching and the show is maybe my favorite new show of the season, though maybe because no other new show has really gotten my attention much more this year.

It's a feel good show with a touch of magic and I like it.

And I hereby retract my "That guy is no Jack Nickolson" comment. I've started to think Paul Gross is actually well suited to the role he's playing.

ABC Cancels 'Eastwick,' 'Let's Dance'

November 10, 2009 |By: Jason HughesComments

'Eastwick' will no longer cast a spell on ABC.

The network has reportedly chosen not to order any additional episodes of the bewitching series, starring Rebecca Romijn, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In the meantime, ABC says that it will finish filming the remaining episodes under the show's 13-episode order. These episodes will in fact see the light of day -- at some point, anyway.

Eastwick has already been bumped for the next two weeks. The CMA Awards will air this Wednesday, followed by an exclusive interview with Janet Jackson on Nov. 18. That means the first of the six remaining episodes wouldn't even hit our screens until at least Nov. 25, assuming ABC sticks to its current schedule.

Considering that ABC is building a pretty strong lineup of shows on Wednesdays ('Modern Family'; 'Cougar Town'), it might not be a bad idea to think about replacing 'Eastwick' immediately.

There lies the question: If ABC were to move 'Eastwick,' where would it go? And more importantly: What would replace it on the schedule? Eventually, the network will run out of interviews and awards shows to fill the immediate void. So, why not consider a potentially life-saving switch with 'Ugly Betty'?

Fridays have become a dumping ground for shows (just ask 'Betty.' last week, the show drew in a measly 4.8 million viewers, after a previous all-time low). And with 'Eastwick' already getting the boot, it can't hardly do much worse than 'Betty' is doing now. So, why not give 'Betty' another shot in a new time slot, if only to see whether the old girl still has some life left in her? She did just get a new makeover after all.

Yup, they keep The Forgotten - a cop show - and cancel Eastwick which is far more interesting and entertaining in my opinion. It's becoming where CBS is the only channel with anything to watch at 10pm anymore.

They'll probly be on in June or July at 10pm on a Saturday when no one thinks to look for it. I'll never understand why ABC insists on canceling a series when there's only 3 or 4 shows left. They did the same thing with Eli Stone. This season they also did it with Hank. How is showing a rerun any better than showing the impending canceled show? That BS Primetime special series could've easily been delayed three weeks to show the last episodes of Eli Stone on time.

Why can't ABC just show Eastwick during December? All they usually show is reruns anyway.

Maybe so, I know it's been pulled for next Wed. I'll have to go find the ABC PR, it talks about Ugly Betty taking the 10pm slot with Eastwick being pulled from the air.

BTW, just because it shows in EPGs doesn't mean that's what's going to happen, two weeks is a long time in TV scheduling.

Okay, it looks like Ugly Betty takes the spot starting Jan 6th so we might get 3 of the remaining 4 episodes although I'm not holding my breath, why pull it next week and then bring it back? I hope they do, but you never know.

This is from Nov 9...
The accountants might not be making all scheduling decisions, but they still hold some sway. ABC plans to air all 13 of the Eastwick episodes (so far 7 of the 13 have aired), though exactly when they will air is still unknown.

Not airing all of the ordered episodes is one thing. But randomly skipping an episode and leaving things not only unresolved but completely confusing?! They've even pulled full episodes off Hulu and ABC.com. ABC has really replaced Fox in terms of having no respect for its viewers in the last couple of years.
