In short, yuck! NBC would have been better served to keep ER on the air. Catch this show in the next few weeks or you'll miss it; it won't be around long.

Couldn't agree more. I think it was a decent concept undone by poor casting. The lead girl is just not right for the role. Too conventional TV pretty, not interesting enough, certainly not 'Jersey' enough.

Terrible. My wife is a nurse and she was yelling at the screen. It was kind of funny

I also work in a hospital, and a lot of the nurses here were literally offended by it.

You think this one is bad, just wait until "Trauma" on Monday. It looks like the "24" of medical shows. Another ridiculous over-dramatized show full of ridiculous explosions.

They should have called it Mercy "OC".

Upon first blush I'd have to agree with the above, it seems a mystery it even made on the air. Looks like they took the template from "Nurse Jackie" and changed a few things. It's only the first episode so we'll see, but it looks like it's just another step toward being able to ignore NBC altogether.

"Trauma" was mentioned, it looks like they blew a wad on the first episode, something they're not likely to continue, so the show may suffer because of it. It looks like a re-make of a UK show called "Casualty", I think that show is in it's 23rd season.

NBC should just bring back Third Watch, I'll bet it would be one of their highest rated shows. :)

Trauma is conceived as a remake of the old 70s TV show Emergency. Except instead of regular parmedics, they use life-flight helicopter paramedics.

I thought the lead was pretty annoying more than anything else. Her outbursts and constant comparisons between civilian medicine and Iraq just felt forced.

The rest of the show was cookie-cutter medical drama. Nothing particularly bad but nothing particularly good either.

I'm more intersted to see Trauma, if that's a show full of explosions, I'm in. Peter Berg has turned into a pretty good action director.

Being Berg is involved in Trauma I'll definitely be given it a look, I would have anyways, but I suppose now I'll be expecting something at least a little special, certainly of higher caliber than Mercy.

I actually liked this show. Of course it requires considerable suspension of disbelief as far as it's depiction of hospital procedures. Maybe I found this acceptable as I sorta took this as more of a dramedy than a straight medical drama show. Sorta ER with a little Scrubs mixed in.

Posting is not about the TV show 'Mercy'
I like the thread title change. Good job. (I'm crazy if this did not happen.)

It's like they tossed "Nurse Jackie" and "Hawthorne" in a blender and this is what they dumped out, an ooey gooey mess. It's so bad it's fun to watch.

It's like a cheap Nurse Jackie knock-off. I am only halfway through the first episode and I am not sure I will finish.

I was thinking the same thing watching it.

NBC picks-up "Mercy" (along with "Community" and "Park and Recreation") for the rest of the season: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=17408720#post17408720. Catch-up and start watching, this one will last at least 22 episodes. :)

I just finished the first 5 episodes and I have to say that I really like it. Give it a chance people, the characters will grow on you!

I think it's too late now. Are any of us who made posts after the first episode still watching?

I didn't watch it when I originally commented. I got into this show by accident by watching it on the Saturday night replays. I like it. I watch it every Saturday now.
