Is it possible to attach a video stabilizer from the DVD/VHS COMMON OUTPUT to the IN2 input terminals and copy a VHS tape in this manner?

Would I have to set the iput as IN2 under these conditions?

Thanks for any responses.

If you can copy a personal DVD now using that method, I don't see why it wouldn't work by inserting a stabilizer in the path. If you can't copy a personal DVD now, then it won't work with a stabilizer.

The older ES machines worked like this, and I've been told from users(I don't have a EZ-48v) that the EZ-48k allows this. I think someone confirmed this for me in the first few pages of the official EZ-48v thread.
As Skylark said if you can do that now with a non commercial VHS(run a video and audio cable directly from the common output to the IN2) it should work just fine with a stabilizer. Remember if you only plan on copying commercial VHS tapes you can get a much less expensive stabilizer than the $100+ DVD filters. Citibear has posted links for VHS filters for <$30. If you plan on eventually backing up DVDs(using a external DVD player) you may just want to get the better filter first place.
