kcspence 09-27-09, 01:34 PM I'm watching NFL Red Zone on Comcast in Portland, OR.
I'm getting a band of vertical lines on some of the feeds, covering maybe 10% of the screen. The bands can appear on different parts of the screen, changing or disappearing even with a different camera angle in the same feed, so I assume it's a transmission issue.
Anyone seeing the same thing?
Other than that, best live sportscasting innovation in recent memory. Good job, NFL, as usual.

I get the same thing on FIOS. Had it last week too. There are green vertical lines going completely up and down (but faint) and then a line of them that cover the width of the screen.
I paid FIOS $50 for this channel so I'm not too forgiving of the quality. I'll call Verizon on Monday to complain.
Posty-McPost 09-27-09, 05:09 PM $50?!?!? Uverse offers it for $5 per month along with 5 other HD exclusive channels. Best $5 I've ever spent. A whole day of NFL action without commercials is absolute bliss.

Yes, short of NFL ST, RedZone is a great alternative, at a fraction of the price.

Yes, I also had the vertical lines this week and last week via E*. Even ignoring that problem, the PQ is miserable.
jeepmatt 09-28-09, 06:28 AM PQ was horrible again this week on FIOS TV - HD very smeary, yard lines are blurry...
Week 1 was crystal clear, now the last two weeks crap. Looks like they took my $ and ran!
Micah008 09-28-09, 10:09 AM Has anyone noticed the audio of this channel being significantly louder than other channels? I was switching back and forth between my local Fox and RedZone, and I had no choice but to keep changing my volume.
Even when the game I was watching on Fox was being shown on RedZone there was a difference.
I am on E* (recently switched from Charter)

I'm on E* as well. The channel is coming in with stereo audio while any games you switched to locally are 5.1. The games themselves I thought were pretty low volume, but the RZ channel studio guy is at a quite loud volume.
I thought the pic quality this week was a bit better than last, but thats not saying much.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm shocked D* allowed such a thing to exist. It really hurts the value of their marquee product.

No vertical lines on U* but the PQ was very ugly at times.
ralphjb 09-28-09, 05:27 PM I posted this in the general discussion, so won't repeat word for word. But in short, for $5.99 a month (Dish) RZC is a really good value as an alternative to Sunday Ticket (unless you have an out-of-area team you root for).
