It's a Clash of the Titans here on KBAKHD Bakersfield via BHN cable. The New York Titans vs the Tennessee Oilers? And the Oilers look like they're getting overwhelmed. Not a good start for the preseason favorites to win the AFC South.

You know what is really goofy?

CBS is in HD, and their studio is in HD... but they show SD highlights at halftime, even of other CBS games.

Meanwhile... FOX is in HD, but their studio is in SD... but somehow they show SD-widescreen (or HD sometimes) highlights at halftime of the CBS games!

I know we beat that to death each week... but how is it the other networks (NFL RedZone also) are getting HD highlights and CBS isn't able to use themselves what they are clearly providing to others?

Anyone remember that WAAAY over-sharpened Subway (5-dollar foot-lonnng) commerical that aired on CBS quite frequently last year? I recall when seeing it on NBC it was a little sharp but not nearly as bad. I just noticed the McDonald's commercial on CBS during the 4pm game (Steelers at Bengals) looked quite over-sharpened as well.

I wish I could have seen the ending. I was waiting to get switched to that game here in NY, but MIA/SD game went longer, so we never got switched. I was watching the score ticker on the bottom and I saw CIN was driving deep into PIT territory.

Quite an exciting finish, despite the macroblocking we get from local CBS affiliates WKRC (cw subchannel) and WHIO (weather sub).

WWJ-DT CBS Detroit via Comcast, Steelers @ Bengals looked and sounded great.

Usual CBS excellence on Steelers/Bengals. Great finish, too. KTVT Dallas via FiOS.
