Just watched this on the DVR. Nobody else has posted about it? I guess nobody watched it but me. That's not a good sign. Liked the concept, was a little uneven in some spots.

I recorded it, was going through my stuff and decided I had no interest and dumped it without watching. Truth be told I'm getting tired of Jerry B shows, isn't there any one else who can produce a show?

Think 'without a trace' meets 'cold case' with civilians. It was better than the premise sounds.

Actually, it seemed to me to be like The Others (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Others_(TV_series)) without all the mystical stuff.

Either way, we thought it was "just okay". I get the feeling that it is the ABC program most likely to be canceled before the end of the season, perhaps even before the end of the year.

I figure if they cancel The Others by the end of October, they're not going to bother putting anything new in that slot, so they might as well burn off the remaining five episodes of Defying Gravity.

I thought it was OK. I liked the cast, but there was nothing special about the show. I'll keep watching for now.

Unfortunately, I thought it was pointless, predictable and really poorly written, acted, directed and produced. They even used the background music/sounds from other shows.

The cameo voice over from the dead girl was really bad. Deleted from season pass.

I recorded it and it took several days before I got around to watching it. I am glad I did as I thought it was very good can't wait for tonight's episode!

I rewatched the first episode and its grown on me as well. I'll be watching tonight.

Anyone watch the second episode? Not that well written I thought I've seen that basic same plot on a million other of the crime shows. We did learn a little more backstory on the forgotten team members which is nice.

I enjoyed the first episode in that it relied on more "detective" procedures than the usual comic quips, guns and ridiculous sci-fi technology to get the job done.

But, it's basically another procedural and I rarely watch those. If the story and characters are not continuously evolving then I don't see the need to watch every week.

I really enjoy this show. I hope the lack of posts are not representative of a lack of viewers.

We watch and like. good to see mr. sleaze slater take on this role. he's a good fit. good characters so far, interesting story lines, and brings in about 8 mil a week. probably will be cancelled.

I like it to a point, but I do have to say that if I were in law enforcement this show would really be insulting to me.

I mean these cops can't figure out these cases, let alone even identify these people, but a group of people who all have full time jobs (minus Slater I'm assuming) are able to balance that part of their lives and solve a case within 5 days that cops couldn't in weeks or months.

I'm still watching and mostly enjoying it. Although I'm not sure if that's due to any merits of the show or a lack of anything better to watch.

I'm watching it, but based on lack of posts I'm going to assume the ratings are not so great.

I do agree that it seems odd that these non professionals can figure out stuff the cops have no clue about. It does make the cops look stupid at times.

In the "hot off the press" thread there is a USA Today article that says the show is likely to stick around even with ratings a little lower then ABC would like.

Glad to hear it. This is the only new show I've stuck with.

I liked that show. I was disappointed when it was canceled - along with American Gothic.

Anyway...

I'm going to keep recording it for a bit longer until I know whether it's going to stick around. If it does, I'll catch up. If it doesn't, then...well...forget it...

I really liked this weeks episode. The sprinkling in of Alex's backstory about his daughter being missing, and now we know the mom, etc. It really showed what drove him to find the little girl in this one.

ABC ordered another 5 episodes. I'm assuming they were doing at least 13 so now maybe 18 total? Not bad, most of the tv season. Maybe it will renew for next year.

That's a good sign. I haven't looked at the ratings lately, but it was holding steady, not bad and not spectacular. But I think it was maintaining audience week to week for the most part.

I've yet to watch this, but it looks like they're burning-off a few "new" episodes tomorrow; this show was canceled, right? Where the frak is 'Ted, ABC?

Probably the same dark hole the rest of "Defying Gravity" and a number of other canceled ABC shows are.

People need to stop pitching new shows to ABC, or at least smart/funny shows like "Better Off Ted" or "Life On Mars". ABC has gone through shows like toilet paper in the past few years, almost like FOX!!

LoM was an "import". Though a great show, I didn't see it going past a few seasons, anyway.

The far superior original was only 16 eps itself. The sequel, "Ashes to Ashes", just finished up(24 eps) in the UK awhile ago, it ended very nicely, helped explain LoM as well.

If you haven't watched and were wondering if these episodes left closure for the show, the answer is that these episodes were skipped back during the original run. The actual final episode of the series was the finale back during the original run. These episodes were episodes 16 and 15 (the finale was 17).

This show deserved a better fate than it received. The problem was that the early episodes were bland, and by the time the show picked up steam it was losing viewers and they needed to open the spot for V. These last 2 episodes were both pretty good, especially the second one. The final episode was really good and did give closure to the series at least.

I had no idea they were on til I was flipping around and saw the 2nd one was one. The 2 from last night were ones that were set to air when they yanked the show off.

And of course they are out of order because at the true "finale" they find Alex's daughter. ABC kept denying it was canceled back then but you could tell the way they closed up the episode where they found here that it was over.

Since ABC showed the last three episodes out of sequence, two of the scenes in the second episode that aired Saturday night became ironic. The first scene was when Alex walked out of the interview when he was asked about his missing daughter who had been found in the previous episode that aired last spring. The second scene was when Alex didn't have the gun that he had just got in the previous episode Saturday night.
