I am using a pioneer dv610 for dvd and sacd through an onkyo tx sr507 with hdmi. Is there a particular setting I should be using? I think I am bitstreaming instead of using pcm. When I listen to sacd I get the dsd on my receiver. When I watch a dvd (all I have is regular dvds) I am seeing dd on my receiver. When I listen to an album on dvd I use dts when possible. Is this the best for audio , or should I set the dvd player to pcm? I've found that for movies , dd sounds better and louder than mpcm. I'm not really sure about sacd and dvd audio sound. Any suggestions or comments would be very helpful.
