I recently bought the magnavox 2160 and was wondering how I can transfer something on the hard drive to dvd. Also is there any way to record hd even if it's just to keep it on the hard drive?

Not with the Maggy 2160, no. The best input it has is S-video, limited to standard def 480i resolutions. Even getting past that hurdle, no standard DVD recorder, hard drive equipped or otherwise, records in HD. gastrof 10-01-09, 05:16 AM I recently bought the magnavox 2160 and was wondering how I can transfer something on the hard drive to dvd. By reading the manual. The machine came with instructions that tell you how to burn a DVD from a recording stored on the hard drive. bfdtv 10-01-09, 12:43 PM Also is there any way to record hd even if it's just to keep it on the hard drive? No DVD recorder sold in the U.S. offers that feature. No DVD recorders can record actual HD. No DVD recorders can output HD from a liveTV signal. All DVD recorders are limited to standard definition output. If you want HD quality, you've got to buy a HDTV recorder like the DTVPal DVR, TivoHD, or Moxi. AVS has a forum dedicated to HDTV recorders here (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=42). andreakobe44 10-01-09, 07:49 PM I figured out how to transfer from hdd to dvd however now it says my discs have an error when I go to finalize them. I have used a dvd-r and a dvd+rw. I can put programs on them, but the finalizing doesn't work. Any ideas? If you have the 2160 "A" version you have to delete any timer scheduled events, finalize the discs and then re-enter your timer scheduled events. Again, be sure to read Wajo's sticky thread for a wealth of information. The first post in that thread is the gateway to complete information concerning these models: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=940657 |
