I love my Kuro and am completely satisfied with it, but am curious about the apparent limit on achievable brightness in Movie mode. I apologize in advance if this has been answered in one of the existing Kuro threads; I got mine relatively recently and a lot of those threads are monsters. ;)
I don't have a problem with the full-screen whites being somewhat gray or with available brightness in Movie mode for the most part. On some material -- namely video games and some sports programming -- I would prefer to get the contrast and brightness boost that is available in most of the other viewing modes. I have learned to not be able to stand bluish whites, so I really cannot enjoy any of the other modes, with the possible exception of Optimum, but that crushes blacks too much.
It seems like the contrast setting in Movie mode doesn't really do much past about 41. I can certainly live with it if there's nothing I can do about this, but if I'm missing something, please let me know.
By the way, I have used ControlCal to input D-Nice's settings for Movie mode on the TV. I'm thinking that if it's possible to raise the white level, it will need to be done via ControlCal.
