Hi everyone. I would like to step up to a projector very soon.
I have a 42" and a 50" Panasonic plasma right now.

I was looking into 60" Plasma displays, but saw some beautiful projectors in person and thought I would be MUCH better off with all that screen real estate.

What would YOU buy if you were me right now? I dont mind refurbished or even used if it will mean I can get more for my budget so be it.

My budget is $2500 usd. I MAY be able to go to $3K USD if the need arose, but would prefer to keep it at $2500 for the time being.

Thank you in advance.

I think the best bang for your buck right now is the Viewsonic Pro8100. The MSRP is around $5K, but they're selling for around $1300.

The viewsonic is definitely the best bang for the buck or you can get an Epson 6100 for $1500. The next step up would be a Refurb Epson 1080UB at Epson.com for $2000 or a Panasonic ae3000 for $2200. I would look at Carada screens. The Epson 8500Ub and 8100 should hopefully be in stores soon which will hopefully lower prices on the 6100 and the 6500UB.

Other projectors in your price rang would be the BenQ W6000 and Mitsubishi HC6800.

Just wanted to see what you decided on and also if anyone else can add to this since I am interested in the same topic.

A Panasonic PT-AE4000U with a 100" Elite EZ-Frame fixed frame screen will cost you under $2500.

I would by the Epson 8100 for about $1500 and spend the $1000 left on a nice 100-110" fix screen.
