Hello all. Thanks in advance for taking a look. I'm a DIY'er on just about everything so clearly I want to take a shot at this. I bought this 42" plasma about a year and a half ago. It is my main tv at home and it's use is regular and not more than typical. I was watching it last saturday morning and all of a sudden the picture became distorted. At first it looked like digital interference and I thought it was my cable box. I turned it off and left the house. Two hours later I returned and it was worse. This image is what appears when I turn it on. I try to change the source and nothing changes. I was told it was likely to be the main board.

Is there anybody here that may be able to help diagnose the problem? I have experience with automotive electrical systems and computers. To me it appears to be a power source problem. If it is the main board, I have no doubt I would be able to replace it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a different issue on an older Samsung that I think is the mainboard also. The one for my set is about $200. Are the menus bad as well?

Nothing works except the sound. The sound works fine.
