My projector is an NEC LT155 i got it used off e-bay for my sister, im building her a cheap home theater and i got this one for next to nothing. ($30. shipped)

Anyway when i plugged it to my Digital HDTV tuner (PHD-205LE) im having some weird image problems.

At first i thought the projector had a problem, when i use the S-video (just the S-video) setting the back of the tuner to S-video the image is really washed out and i cant control the image with the projector to make it look decent its just blown way out contrast and brightness wise.

I talked to my buddy and he sugested i try the other inputs so i plugged in a DVD player to the composit jack looked fine, then i plugged in the S-video that even looked fine. So now i know its the HDTV tuner.

Today i call the number on the back of the manual (Epvision) i talk to a guy and he seems to think my cable is to long and asked me to take some screen shots and try some other cables.

Tonight i try what he sugest now i notice more weird problems.

With just the S-video plugged in (cable length doesnt matter) i get a very washed out image, unwatchable. With the S-video plugged in AND the RGB cable it looks ok alot better. With the S-video plugged in and the RGB setting the tuner to RGB mode it looks green, unhook the S-video and its normal.

Anyone have any ideas on what the problem is? I asked the guy at epvision if there were any gain settings i could change inside, control pots or somthing and he said no. No advanced settings for the output either.

Just so i dont confuse anyone this tuner that i have i got special so i could watch local HDTV channels threw the cabletv cable in my basement where its hard to get reception. With this tuner it has composit out, S-video out, RGB out, componet out AND HDMI out so it has all the outputs i would ever want with the HDTV video and audio.

Something seems funky, can you just use the RGB connection and bypass the S-Video all together?

I have been using a PHD 205 for a year and a half. I don't have any problems with the 205. For a while I used the component cables for about a year and then I moved the 205 to another HT system and in the new system I use the DVI connection.

If i had a cable long enough, i think what i have now is only 6ft and its just bairly long enough for testing.
