I have an opportunity to purchase an Infocus X2 at a "VERY" cheap price. It is an older model, of course, but it has 2000 lumens and 1700:1 contract ratio. Not bad compared to other "home theater" projectors I have looked at in the cheaper price range. Is this a good way to go? I am hoping to upgrade to a "better" projector after a few years; but this would allow me to finish my room and still have it functionable and more money available for a higher-end unit later. Is it worth the effort ($150) or just save for a $500-$600 used unit from Sony or otherwise. I am able to get a new Sony VPL-BW5 for $600; but the contract ratio is only 700:1. I realize the Infocus X2 is probably not a "home theater" projector; but the specs seem decent. Looking for anyone with experience or opinion if you think I will be satisfied with this projector for awhile. It is my first attempt at front projection and my room is completely light controllable. My screen would be 123" diagonal and my room is about 23' deep.
Thanks.
Thanks.
