Hi all,

So here's the story. Got a smudge on my projector lens and couldn't get it completely off, so a friend told me to use windex (completely moronic now, I know) but at the time I did not know it could cause damage to the coating on the lens so I did it.

It's been a week and I can't tell any difference in the picture, so am I safe? How does it really affect the look if there is damage? Would once not be enough to hurt it? Really hoping for good news here.

Don't worry about it! The coating is tougher than that.

Next time, if you really need it wet, just try some water. Guilt free, and half the time it works better anyway. Windex has changed a lot over the years, it's now full of a lot of surfactants and emulsifiers and leaves streaks and residue.
