SFischer1 10-04-09, 04:28 PM Hi,
I keep hearing and seeing "Spanish Audio Provided by Telemundo" at the start of SNF.
San Jose, CA KNTV OTA (CH 11 - Physical 12)
First Thursday, First Sunday, No second Audio channel, Audio 0 only.
Second and Third Sundays, Audio 0 and Audio 1 received.
Audio 0 is English.
Audio 1 is English much louder than Spanish.
I do not speak Spanish but I wonder if the English being so much louder than the Spanish if the Spanish can be understood by anyone.
Tested with two different tuners and KQED which had 3 Audio channels at the same time.
Sound tested with both 5.1 and 2 channel speakers.

Hi,
I did. The only response first was from a member of the English Only League.
The KNTV station engineer proved the commercial:
X, the number of persons who clicked on "Reply ALL" by mistake.
KNTV is questioning my report. It might be a local issue, but I am posting here because I suspect the problem starts at the Horse Trailer. Wait, I have not seen the Horse Trailer this year.
I am here looking for one or more responses from other parts of the country.
Either to show the problem has been corrected (I will be checking Myself) or that the problem exists across the USA.
Here is my first post:

And the Forward(s) that might be a mistake in sending to the Entire List.

"HDTV-in-SFbay" is where the KNTV Engineer most often posts.

Edit: I just checked the pregame Audio and Audio 1 had only the right channel.
They may have or will eliminate the error tonight.
Mesickstan 10-04-09, 09:15 PM Here in stormy Mesick, MI, watching OTA WPBN on 7.1 and 29.2, both 720p, both soft. The only benefit is that Al Michaels looks better than at 1080i.
Comcast - KNTV - San Francisco
Saw a few instances of pixelation before the game started that I haven't seen for quite awhile, but everything has looked good since then.
Still have the bad audio garbling issue, but that's a local problem, sort of, as it involves the network feed as well.

Looks good, very sharp here.
Just an FYI, I checked my SAP and the Spanish is there loud and clear.
.....It might be a local issue.....It is a local issue. Please post further in your local topic.

Hi,
Thanks for the reports.
I am hearing the what I have heard before on Audio 1, Loud English with very low Spanish.
It is a local issue. Please post further in your local topic.
OK, I will tomorrow. Now I have at least two reports that it might be local.
I think that I may also post in "HDTV Technical". I have checked FOX and their Audio 1 has no play by play but commerical audio is there. Just what you want to add in your own play by play in another Language.

SNF Mixer 10-04-09, 10:46 PM Not many viewers.
coyoteaz 10-05-09, 12:25 AM Not much of a game until the 4th quarter. I think most everyone tuned out before then, but those of us who stuck it out got to see a football game. Nothing out of the ordinary production wise for the game: good video on still shots, moderate blocking on motion due to 2 SD subchannels; audio was the same greatness as always, good crowd noise when the Steelers were on defense and good sound from the field when on offense. KXAS Dallas via FiOS.
Not many viewers.
No news is good news. If there were issues you know everyone would be here complaining.
AccidenT 10-05-09, 11:35 AM This is the first year my local affiliate has been able to pass DD5.1 audio to the viewer, and I have to say the surround mix on SNF is easily the best mix of all the networks. Keep up the great work, SNF Mixer!
