When I set the output to be HDMI I do not get 5.1 sound on my Sony audio receiver using the toslink interface. If I set to digital output I get 5.1 on the audio receiver but no sound on the Pioneer plasma model 5020 connected by HDMI.
Even running extra audio cables to the Pioneer plasma I do not get audio on the HDMI input.
With HDMI interface hook up I do not get a picture use the component cables on another input to the plasma. I get sound on the Plasma but no picture. Is there a conflict at 1080i using component when the HDMI interface is hook up to the Explorer 8240HDC?

I found the answer to the question? When I unplug the HDMI cable from the Explorer the component interface works. Plug the HDMI cable back in and the picture goes away on the component interface. I keep sound but no picture. You cannot output component picture 10800i when the HDMI cable is active.
