I am ready for this game right now, just so the endless hype could end.
Maestro J 10-05-09, 04:44 PM Yeah, really.
Everywhere I went today, employees were dressed in Packers shirts. I don't normally see that for any other game unless it's a playoff game.
Mike4HDTV 10-05-09, 05:08 PM Huge game tonight. Brett Favre against his old team. It's gonna be a great game.
dcowboy7 10-05-09, 05:39 PM Boo to the cheezheads for getting rid of Favre....booooo.
I hope they both lose, but since that's unlikely, go Packers.
bruin95 10-05-09, 08:15 PM Huge game tonight. Brett Favre against his old team. It's gonna be a great game.
He's not playing the Jets. :D
Mike4HDTV 10-05-09, 08:30 PM I hope this game is as good as all the hype that its receiving.
Mike4HDTV 10-05-09, 08:48 PM Watching on D*. PQ looks very good.
Have those 3 TINY boxes representing the timeouts for each team been there in previous games and I'm just now noticing? Or they did just add that? How is any person supposed to notice that?
primetimeguy 10-05-09, 08:51 PM Watching on E* and OTA KSTP in Minneapolis, 20/50/20 cams are a bit soft but otherwise not bad.
blueaura 10-05-09, 08:54 PM Watching on Comcast in Chicago, the picture looks a little soft. The wide shots from above are the worst.
I noticed the timeout boxes also, I guess they're new tonight
willdude 10-05-09, 08:56 PM Looks pretty bad on ESPN on FIOS in the DC area. Maybe a little better than standard def.
ABCTV99 10-05-09, 09:02 PM Watching on Comcast. Not as good as week 2, but decent. Agree up cams are a touch soft, definitely not as crunchy as the Saturday Night Game on ABC. Again I think this show they don't like to dial up the detail on those cameras, but that's a stylistic choice. Still pretty solid overall. Just a conservative approach but again I've not yet see a game look spectacular in the metrodome on any network in any sport.
Great job on the open (other than the mispunch coming out of the Hank Williams' tease). Timing actually worked this week, as opposed to last week where the Cowboys were very late it seems coming out the tunnel. Not Wendell-esque but the audio is pretty good this year. I too noticed the Viz upgrade adding the timeouts. Nice adjustment. Again this show and SNF are neck-and-neck, for networks continuing to polish their product and its refreshing to see in this environment where everyone else seems to be status quo or dialing it back. I did notice they are using less booth cameras, but that's probably smart on Chip's part. Use those cams elsewhere.
MikeKlim 10-05-09, 09:33 PM Anybody else seeing a very quick video glitch every few minutes where it seems like a frame is being dropped or something? Blink and you miss it, but it's noticeable--like the picture slightly "jumps", but it's very subtle.
Watching via D*
URFloorMatt 10-05-09, 09:37 PM Looks pretty bad on ESPN on FIOS in the DC area. Maybe a little better than standard def.
And here I am to post best looking MNF of the year (though I missed last week). Watching via FiOS in Virginia. Go figure.
bigzeto 10-05-09, 09:38 PM Doesn't look as good as SNF on NBC last night, but this at least looks better than last Monday's game on ESPN. Watching on D*

This looks pretty good, one of the better ESPN games as far as PQ.

Yeah, many "stuck" frames.
What's up with the soft half time highlights? Have the appearance of film from a couple decades ago. Must be a special effect ESPN is trying to create. Just missing Howard Cosell.
MikeKlim 10-05-09, 10:23 PM Yeah, many "stuck" frames.
Thanks igreg, I was wondering about that. Glad to see it's not just me.

Just noticed the "stuck" frames.
the NFL is kind of a disappointment now when it comes to quality HD. NBC and CBS seem to be able to produce a quality product, but fox and ESPN are unable to for some reason. i watch and listen to this game tonight and i think about the presentation of the NBC game last night...the picture quality, the sound quality...its not even in the same ballpark.
I think you need to cut ESPN a break, the metrodump has lousy lighting for HD. I think considering everything it looked pretty good on D*.
ABCTV99 10-06-09, 01:12 AM not only that I've seen some really great HD on FOX from time to time as well and some REALLY crappy HD on NBC.
Mike4HDTV 10-06-09, 08:03 AM I gotta say that the game lived up to all the hype.
I can't wait until Nov. 1st when Favre returns to Green Bay.

Don't agree at all. ESPN is the worst of all the broadcasters. So many cameras simply look out of focus. Via FIOS.

Excellent contribution.
MikeKlim 10-06-09, 09:43 AM Ironic, but I remember when espn used to carry the Sunday night games, the PQ was pretty good, particularly around 5 years or so ago.
As for the game, Brett really did perform well. During the first quarter, I thought his replacement at GB might make the case that football really is a young man's game, but the turnovers and sacks started piling up...
With a RB like Peterson, the Vikes could actually be a legitimate threat in the NFC. That's a surprise.
Legairre 10-06-09, 11:32 AM Comcast in CT. ESPN looked fantastic.
steverobertson 10-06-09, 11:37 AM Can ESPN slobber anymore on themselves while Brett is playing? I ended up shutting it off god it was just pure sickening
Skipdrive 10-06-09, 11:52 AM With a RB like Peterson, the Vikes could actually be a legitimate threat in the NFC. That's a surprise.
No surprise at all to folks who really follow the League. The Vikings were loaded before they got Favre. If he, Peterson, and Allen stay healthy, look for them to still be playing in February.
I see that Pretty in Pink will be lasting the entire month. There is no crying in baseball, and pink should never ever be allowed in men’s football. Charity or no charity, that looks horrible. If it has to be, then wear the pink ribbon and let that suffice, please. :p

Not a surprise to me and GB knew it. This is their worst nightmare. Favre and Jared Allen that is,
