After researching the Optoma HD20 for last month my wife has finally jumped on board but now want one that if she wants to take it out back and watch a movie with the neighbors I can do it for her.
My dilemma is I have also been looking at the Viewsonic Pro8100 the last couple days and it seems to have a lot more adjustments.I know the Viewsonic weighs 16lbs and the Optoma hd20 is only 7lbs but now I need one thats a lot more mobile and adjustable but she whats to stick to the 1300.00 range.
Optoma HD20-1700 ANSI lumens/contrast-4000:1
Veiwsonic Pro8100-1,000 ANSI lumens/13000:1 (typ)

Will these numbers make much of a difference or are these just numbers.

Any thoughts

Brighter is better for outside because of non ideal lighting conditions. The best black levels aren't that important. I would check out the Epson 6100 but the Optoma HD20 might work as well.
