Just bought an epson 720 projector, I understand this is a 720P projector and I would like to hook it up to a blueray player. Does it matter what grade of blueray player I buy?? My logic is its only a 720 projector so is there any advantage getting the better blueray play. I was thinking a Samsung BD1600 at best buy for $200 would work perfect? I assume it will take a 1080p signal. THANKS FOR THE HELP.........

Whatever BD player you get, obviously the blu-rays you play will be down-rezzed to 720p, whether by your player or by your projector. If you set your player to output 720p, then a better quality player will handle the conversion better. However, if you output at 1080p (which any BD player is capable of) then the conversion will be done in your projector, and I don't know the video processing quality of your projector.
One side of the coin is BD is still relatively early in its evolution, so why not get a cheap player now, with the likelihood of picking up a better player later? On the other hand, you could get a better player now, planning to keep it beyond an upgrade of your projector to 1080p. Trust me, one or the other will happen eventually; you'll either upgrade your projector or your BD player. I would say don't chintz on the BD player, but get a middle-of-the-road winner like a Panasonic BD60/80, a Sony 350/550, or the like, which can be had for about the same amount of money online.

The Epson Hc 720 DOES NOT have a good scaler. 720p from Blu ray looks great, 1080p doesn't look very good at all. I have one...trust me on this
Doesn't really matter which Blu ray player you get, just make sure it can output 720p and you'll have an excellent combination. Specifications from Samsung say the 1600 does, so you're good there.
Wait..just realized you need a player that will output RGB because the Epson will not pass BTB or WTW unless fed RGB. the Samung doesn't output RGB so....the next in price would be the Panasonic BD60 which does both RGB and YCbCr.
