i have penny PT-LC75U for many years and it was working great until a few months ago that when I start projector for the first 20 minutes is it working fine but after 20 min on the extreme right side a verticle band appears on the screen. I gave projector to service center and they changed green LCD pannel and problem disppeared but later on after a month or so problem appeared again and now they are insisting to change optical block but still they are not sure that problem shall go or will stay. Its like without proper diagnosis they are experimenting by changing parts on which they have doubt. I live in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Panasonic where it is not equiped with technicians with even good knowledge.
May be some of you can advise me what could be the problem and i may work on it to get rid of this vertical banding (single band on extreme right side). Thanks a lot.

I doubt that you're still on warranty. It might be cheaper to buy a new projector? Did you try contacting their CS or e-mailing Panasonic about your problem?
Also it may depend on where you originally bought it from, the U.S.?

I dont have warenty. You are right that better to buy new one as to change optical block they are asking for US$ 1700/- and i know that i can get new projector but my concern is that PT-LC75 is great projector and throws very sharp video image which new panasonic projectors fail to do so due to smoothscreen technolgy.
I was just thinking that other than optical block perhaps there could be some other way, like just cleaning some specific part or change some specific IC, etc.
Anyways thanks for helping

You can get a much better projector for much less. Look into the Panasonic ax200

I see and understand where you're coming regarding that aspect. Some older generation products were made much better, perhaps under par in performance but quality wise a lot better. I agree, BUT. as I said before, unless you're willing to go search for after-market parts, it'd be very difficult to fix your projector. I personally have not had a chance to play with a PT-LC75U, so I would not know it's actual performance, but when I checked online at it's specs, I was not impressed at all. Are you sure the performance is really good, haha they seem a bit shy of what you can find today:

As I mentioned earlier, maybe you should consider some of the new projectors?
