Hi folks.
The "digital out" audio connector on my hdtv is a regular ol' RCA connection. Do I need a special cable to get digital audio to my surround system, or will any cable do?
Thanks!

Recommend an actual digital coax, though a regular RCA will work-

I assume you're referring to a cable like this:

Is it just an RCA cable w/ better shielding? Or is there some fundamental difference?

Yes that will work fine - As long as the cable is rated for 75 ohms it will work fine
Yeah, there's no difference from digital coax and composite video cables, other than some color coding. It'll also work with a subwoofer, although a sub doesn't need 75ohm.
For a short run, anything will do. For longer runs, any 75 ohm coax will do.
But for best results, no matter how long the run, use 75 Ohm coax cable.
A dollar or two shouldn't hold you back from using the right cable. :)
