The creators of Comedy Central’s South Park are putting the 1999 feature-length film based on the series on the Internet in video-streaming form for the next three weeks as Viacom and show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone prepare to release the film on Blu-ray Disc on Oct. 13.
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut will be available for streaming on SouthParkStudios.com until Oct. 28, Viacom divisions MTV Networks and Comedy Central said in a statement. The streaming version will feature new commentary from Parker and Stone, who are in their 13th season creating South Park.
The film, produced by Warner Bros. and Viacom’s Paramount Pictures, grossed $83 million worldwide after its June 1999 release, or about four times its production budget, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. The movie received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for “Blame Canada.”
