Has anyone else had much experience working with Provantage?

I bought a new lamp from them for my Optoma HD72 a few months back. When I go to their site and choose an Optoma HD72 they identify the replacement lamp (http://www.provantage.com/optoma-bl-fu220a~7OPTO05J.htm) as part number BL-FU22A and that this part is a P-VIP lamp. However when I go to Optoma's site (http://www.optomausa.com/Product_detail.asp?product_id=257) they identify the same part number but show it as a UHP lamp. UHP is the correct lamp type for this projector.

However, when I bought the lamp I did not know the difference between UHP and P-VIP so I accepted the part they identified on their site. Fast forward a few months and the lamp from Provantage is starting to fail. A repair vendor told me that the lamp type I had in the projector was incorrect and that I needed a UHP.

So I made my first call to Provantage today and their first response is that they can't do anything about it since it was purchased more than 30 days ago. I understand the 30 day return period but to this day they are still identifying the correct lamp for the HD72 as a P-VIP lamp, which is definitely incorrect.

Has anyone else had problems with this vendor?

I purchased a replacement lamp for an HC3000 and a remote as well. Both were OEM Mitsubishi parts with the same numbers as identified in the users manual. They shipped the in-stock lamp the next day and they drop shipped the remote. Shipping prices were low and both products were in perfect working order. Sorry I can not be of more help. I would not give up on customer support, escalate to management and get the problem resolved and a new lamp or refund. They have a problem with there inventory and part numbers, it is not your fault.
Good luck and don't take no for the answer!
