This has not been a good year for electronics for us. After getting my parents system figured out, our vcr quit working this morning. I need a reliable vhs/dvd player. Out shopping today, I say a Samsung DVD V9800 and a Magnavox DV 225MG9. Would either of these be good choices? Thank you for all your help!

Those models you mentioned can be reliable for a couple of years (3 or 4) if you watch a tape very rarely.

If you want something good buy separates.
